flesh worship

You worship the meat don’t you?

The first thing people think about when considering giving up meat is the taste. What their meals will taste like without meat. How unfulfilled they’ll be without the piece of steak or that boerewors on the coals.

“A real man eats meat” — right? — “There’s nothing like killing your own dinner” — right? — Though you condemn certain people for eating dog and cat. Isn’t it also just meat? How about the horse meat scandals? People who ate those burgers didn’t even know the difference. How about sneaking some human chops onto someone’s plate? Bet they won’t notice the difference either.

Taste is your motivation. And, oh, how you’ve experimented with every kind of meat. Ostrich burgers and snails, monkey and crocodile. You so love the exotic ones don’t you? The mere fact that you don’t feel complete without a piece of flesh in your stomach should highlight a few very interesting points about you as a human being.

Back when we started to eat meat, we were compelled by our instinct to survive. Back then we were simple creatures who took the easiest way out. Just look at how much work it takes to grow food and how little effort goes into shooting an animal. We’ve developed such sophisticated machinery to till our soil and plant our seeds and harvest our crops. We put so much sweat into it just to watch it wash away or burn down. Does that not highlight a few points about how far we’ve come in this life?

When you pick an apple, the tree will grow another one for you. That’s what it does. It grows ‘food’. You can even put the seeds into the ground and grow more trees. When you cut the leg off a lamb, the lamb will grow another one for you. That’s what it does. Isn’t it? I forget — are we the only animals who suck on the teats of other animals for milk? Why do we need milk again? Since calcium can be found in almost every food group. And we fortify almost everything with it these days anyway. That’s why you make such a big fuss about it. “Strong bones and healthy teeth” — right?

Are you just a drone who takes the easy way out?

And then you still ask us, on the rare occasion you bump into one of us, why we don’t eat meat. Shouldn’t you ask yourself why you still eat meat?

Comfort and Food

Why are we all trying so hard to be better, do better, do better things, make better things? I think we’ll do okay without all of those things. People everywhere are trying to be famous (in their own world/click/locality or beyond), become smarter, wiser, richer, build bigger things, smaller things, be more comfortable, go faster, go higher, simplify things, fortify things, claim things and fix mistakes from trying to get all of that. It’s a tough job being the smartest creatures on this rock. Lion sleeps and eats - that’s all it does. No thoughts running through its mind - just instinct. Kill and rest - that’s all I got to do today.

You will notice that other creatures do one or more things that we also do - build houses, build traps, find things, gather things, experiment, learn, compete, defend, attack, pretend. All creatures do some of the things we do - we do all of the things they do and more.

Why?

Maybe that’s not important. Maybe I just need to establish why we need to try and sell everything we do? For money, for fame, recognition, appreciation - we all want something for the things we do. One reason I work for money is that I don’t like cold, dirty or hungry - I prefer warm, clean and fed - Or let’s just say comfort and a good meal. Otherwise I’d be that crazy old lady with the shopping cart full of empty cans; or that guy with the hair that looks like it’s been ironed into one big lock and wears the $1000 pair of nikes that someone threw away after it went out of style.

We all prefer different levels of comfort and food intake. Less (or too little) is not a good thing, but we can always do with and we seldom say no to more. Lion only eats what it needs to, therefore only hunts what it needs to. We kill and store as if the world is going to run out these things. When Lion wastes, nothing really goes to waste. Hyena comes along and finishes off the rest of the carcass. Nature and the other critters take care of the rest. When we waste we make sure it stays wasted. Instead of being helped by it Nature is actually being harmed by it.

If you look at the life of Lion you might think that leading such a life is meaningless or purposeless, even boring. But how much more meaning or how much more purpose does this life have? For a creature so intellectually advanced, all of the things we do to get what we need in life (same things Lion needs) (that comfort and food) are pretty stupid.

So - it really makes the lives we live - from my perspective - pretty dumb. And right now I am someone who has one of the most meaningless jobs ever - I’m a graphic designer. I take care of the superficial elements of products - the bright colours that attract people to the product that helps the business man to keep doing the thing he does to get his share of comfort and food.

The theory of the Unknown Phenomenon

DRAFT 01 – September 04, 2006
DRAFT 01.1 – December 21, 2007
ORIGINALLY COMPILED BY CHARLES JOHANNISEN.

Although it is not truly unknown, it is not fully known or explainable either.

The energy inside of us is a contributing factor to the nature of the Unknown Phenomenon. Point: We sometimes experience an enlightening energy while in the presence of someone with esteem. To further illustrate: when an individual’s mind is blocked for some reason – being in the presence of such a person will open up the mind.

In modern times this is best described as ‘a vibe’. This is of course the subconscious emission of energy which can be read or picked up by most people. Though emitted unintentionally by these individuals, the energy does have a level of influence over the individuals around them.

If we are capable of creating energy with mere natural functioning, there should be a means to consciously convert and transmit energy produced by the brain.

We all know what the Unknown Phenomenon is. We just don’t know where it is.

It could (A) be in the space around us acting as a single, all-knowing, inter-connected entity; or (B) be within each and every one of us. The latter would be an unexplored region of our brain that constantly emits wave after wave of energy – i.e. our desires and needs.

When, in the course of our lives, we meet someone who can fill these needs or desires, the waves are automatically logged into the subconscious of such an individual. No one is aware that these waves are logged. Even though some people – subconsciously – tap into the logs and come to conclusions based on these logs, it is interpreted by our fairly primitive methods of deduction through different emotions, senses and strands of logic.

So – the theory of the Unknown Phenomenon starts as a compromise between the two theories of its location. This means that (in the case of B) waves are emitted by the brain and (in the case of A) these waves could be manipulated by the Unknown Phenomenon or even others, while in transit, in a way where some of the stronger desires and more pressing needs of an individual are tagged with a higher level of importance. The more important tags will set off an alert in the subconscious of the individual who would receive and eventually fill this desire or need. The receiving individual will interpret some of this by experiencing a ‘sixth sense’ or ‘an intuitive event’.

In the case of love or soul mates or kindred spirits (socially or professionally) the tags play a matchmaking role. In many cases we will experience the alerts as ‘love at first sight’ or ‘love upon first encounter’. The mutual feelings are later interpreted as ‘fate’ or ‘destiny’. ‘Fate’ or ‘destiny’ as a concept does not occur as we believe where the wave is carried directly to the match. It is bounced from one individual to another. The concept, as in ‘six degrees of separation,’ is at play in this process. For example: a woman looking for a match – this wave is logged with her friend, who knows a janitor where she works, who passes the tag to a friend at the pub, who carries it across the Atlantic to a business partner in Canada, who knows the match. The Unknown Phenomenon now sets certain events into motion that will result in these two individuals meeting. A union will depend on the mindset of the two individuals and the situation they find themselves in after years of acting on their conscious filtering.

In matchmaking the Unknown Phenomenon ignores our conscious filters. For example: a woman looking for a tall not a short man, with blond hair instead of black. The Unknown Phenomenon only considers what truly matters and what has the true potential to last. Mismatches are a result of individuals acting on conclusions made by their conscious filters. Conscious filters are conclusions that are influenced by the people and events around us – society, peer pressure, role models, authority figures, culture, etc. Individuals will act on what they believe should take place in their lives at a certain point in time. Even though the tag alerts are apparent, the alerts may not mean much to someone who is overwhelmed by their conscious filters. Conscious filters are to most individuals a means of surviving the environment they find themselves in.

Individuals who experience the ‘void’ in their lives at some point will set out to fill this ‘void’. Some will succeed, but most will not or they will fill the ‘void’ with something they have convinced themselves of is the right thing. Filling the ‘void’ or ‘tapping into’ the Unknown Phenomenon will require a purer or uncluttered state of consciousness. Individuals who’ve succeeded in filling the ‘void’ can attest to the nature of this purer or uncluttered state of being. They would have found fulfilment in a new job or relationship or calling. Although they don’t realise it, they are the ones who will – consciously – be able to ‘tap into’ the Unknown Phenomenon easier than most.

Cases of the Unknown Phenomenon

COMMON CASE #1: INSTANT FEEDBACK

Thinking of someone and the phone rings.
Thinking of calling someone and the phone rings.
Two people dialling the other’s number at the same time.

Modern times and its technologies allow us to find answers for the phenomena that have been around for ages.

Before telephones we would never have known that the other person is thinking about us at an exact moment in time. This phenomenon would not have been so apparent in times predating the advent of the telephone. Nowadays we can witness neurological information being sent and, because of instant communication technology, receive instant feedback of the phenomenon occurring.

Though some of the cases highlighted in the theory can be explained by way of psychology or behavioural science, this is unique in that the person at the other end of the world can’t read your body language in order to judge your actions. They might know your schedule or you may know theirs, but in cases where, for example, the one person haven’t seen or heard from the other in years, the one comes across an old photo and the next day the one gets a call from the other. There is clearly no way this can be explained through psychology or behavioural science.

Every single adult can attest to the occurrence of this phenomenon. Therefore this case is the first true form of evidence that the phenomenon exists.

Let Go

Rules: have us all caught up in this ridiculous stage production — of dress-up and pretend. On stage you show people only what they are expecting to see — a good show — so that you can get a good review. And even when you come to see someone else perform you’re dressed in your finest Sunday clothes, on your best behaviour, so that you fit in and so that they’ll let you in to see the show. On stage you’re bold, composed, confident, but backstage you have to throw up five times, because you’re afraid of all the things that can go wrong. And I’m not saying this because people don’t know that their life is just one big stage play — they know — we know — and we gladly pay to be a part of it every single day of our lives. As far as I know the only rules that make sense are the ones that prevent damage to other people and other people’s property. But I guess you are what you are and if you prefer all the theatrics that’s your choice. However, if you do find a way to separate yourself from that kind of thinking — you’ll see just how much simpler life becomes when you Just Let Go.
